Nikita & Phil

I had a wonderful time shooting the wedding of our darling Nikita (aka ‘Boo’ to some!) and the lovely Phil Smith!  They married on the 12th of May in Evesham but this wedding celebration for me started the day previously.  I had the privilege of staying with the Bridal party the night before at Nikita’s aunt & uncles house (although all males were kicked out for the night).  I just wanted to express great thanks for all the kindness and amazing hospitality shown to me- you ladies were GREAT fun.

Anyways, on to the the wedding day!  The weather was stunning and as you will see throughout the photos, I had some lovely opportunities to play with the light.  The venue was held at ‘The Vale- Golf & Country Club’ in Pershore and the Bride & Groom were supplied with their own wedding Golf Buggy!  Unfortunately we didn’t get time to do any doughnuts in the car park but we did enjoy a good old race of groom vs. ushers- of course Phil got the buggy.

I really enjoyed the time when I got to take Phil & Nikita off around the lake for some personal photos.  They were so relaxed and up for a laugh.  Nikita, thank you for letting us lower you down and hoist you up on and off that picnic rug, especially in such a restrictive corset, you were a star!  You looked absolutely stunning and all the little details throughout the wedding really made for a beautiful day.

I adored their peacock feather theme for Nikitas head piece and the bridesmaids pillbox hats.  Even the groom got a feather in his corsage, along with a green chilli…just to man it up at bit!  Another great feature of the day was their tier of cheeses as an alternative to cake, also offering favours of jared chutney and a green apple for the guests- a lovely idea.

Before this blog turns into a full blown Biography, I will wrap it up and offer Phil & Nikita all my love and best wishes.

You guys are a magnificent couple!

(I think that’s all my adjectives used up for one day!)

Greg & Kim

On the 24th of September, I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding for a really wonderful couple.  Greg is a good friend of ours who dwelt in the tiny village of Kinnerton in Powys and a few years ago he stumbled across a gorgeous young lady from Caldicot in South Wales, who I like to call Kimmy.  I have to say, I don’t think I have come across such a beautifully suited couple- they just fit. Perfectly.  This is how their wedding day went as well.  They had their ceremony in Caldicot and we travelled on to Abergavenny for the reception.  This was held at the stunning Treadam Barn near the ruins of White Castle, which is where we went for some more photos of the wedding party.  The day as a whole went so smoothly.  They had put so much thought and effort into the details- I particularly loved the home made jam favours and the HUGE wedding cake…literally, it was the size of a tall 5 year old!

Kimmy, you looked so beautiful and you guys did so well to create such a fantastic day.  I know  you will put the same effort into your future together.

I wish you all the happiness and love for your marriage!

Mark & Kate

Marky and Kate, some lovely friends of mine from Cheltenham, asked me to do their wedding photos on the 20th of August.  However we travelled to Abingdon, near Oxford, for the ceremony which was close to their special reception venue Fison Barn – a beautiful location amidst vast countryside with a 19th century eco-barn at the heart of it.  I was so excited to do this wedding as I knew Marky and Kate wouldn’t be your run-of-the-mill Bride and groom. This fact was made manifest when Marky came to collect his bride in a rather foxy red MG soft top in which to whisk her off to the ceremony.  Firstly though, they took time to relax, take it all in, and of course I used this opportunity to take some photos!  I have to say, this is possibly the most funky couple I have had the privilege to photograph and knowing that they were going to MOMA in New York City for their honeymoon gave me the ‘thumbs up’ to get a little more creative and alternative with my shots.  I have loved playing with the colours of my photographs on this wedding, making them a little more vibrant and edgy, I hope you like them too!

Well guys, I wish you all the love, laughter and happiness I can muster for your future.  Congratulations again!
