Ellis & Lia

What a magnificent whirlwind of weddings this was! My lil’ cousin Ellis got Married * sobs while thinking back to holding him as a baby * … to the stunning and delightful Lia!

Although my baby cuz hails from Wales, he moved to Hamburg when he was five … not on his own of course. So the legal ceremony went down in Germany but then they ventured over to Wales for their main wedding day!

It was a privilege to capture the ceremony in Altona City Hall. A beautiful historic building. It seems like the whole city was in bloom for their wedding too – blossom EVERYWHERE!

My wonderful Aunty Cindy put on a magnificent spread afterwards and look out for the epic ice cream cake … Ellis and Lia weren’t expecting to get an ‘arm day’ in on their wedding day with frozen goods. What a win.

For the Welsh wedding, we ventured over to the stunning Llechwen Hall where we had a lovely ceremony talk given by the one and only Uncle Dale/Best Man! This day was full of feasting, games and one of the best golden hour shoots I’ve experienced * chef’s kiss *

I am so happy for this beautiful pair – Ellie, you found yourself an absolute gem of a woman. I wish you both every happiness and am so happy to have you in the family Lia! Much love and cwtches to you both xxx

Megan & Lukas

My beautiful cousin Megan and Lukas got hitched this summer. My little baby cous! … man does that make me feel old! But we had a beautiful day in sunny Germany and spending time with family was so precious.

These guys had a ‘first look’ before the ceremony, giving each other their vows in secret. A beautiful tender moment just for the two of them. Such a lovely idea.

For the reception, we went onto the quaint municipality of Boizenburg. The hotel – Jagdschlosschen Schwartow – was full of charm and romance! The early evening light shining through the trees was just perfection for me as a photographer. Although having such a handsome couple helped!

Meg & Lukas, it’s a joy to see just how in love you are. And I wish you every happiness in your marriage. Here’s to the years of fun and adventure ahead of you!

Sophie & Alex

Well this was a delightful day at Tall John’s House! I have been here numerous times now and NEVER have I been into the secret room behind the bookcase! What an epic venue!

Showers were threatening our forcast for the day but they never came!  We managed to have the ceremony outside in the beautiful grounds surrounded by the bluebells. This ceremony had such heart – readings, poems and even a stunning acapella sung by the brother of the Bride. I got to see my first Scottish Quaich, where a cup is sipped from by Bride and Groom signifying love, dedication and the unifying of two families!

These guys were such a fun bunch to photograph. Look out for the groomsmen photo – I came over from the bridesmaid shot and they were all ready in position!! Encapsulating some cool album cover photo I mistakingly thought they were impersonating some 16th century Sea Captains. Similar vibe I guess.

With some incredible feasting, live band and a Ceilidh, cocktails and fire pits, this wedding was an absolute corker! And by the sounds of it, the new Mr & Mrs McDermott are carrying on that tend into the honeymoon!

Many happy returns to you Sophie & Alex!
