Alex & Sam

On the 29th of August I travelled to Solihull to shoot a wedding at the slick and rather luxurious Hogarths Hotel.  I met our lovely Bride Sam in the morning while her and her ladies were getting ready.  It was a fantastic venue to capture the detail shots – lots of interesting decor and textures!  I was ever so slightly green when I saw their magnificent bridal suite – HUGE four poster bed and a deep bath in the room.  Wowzers.

Anyhoo … the girls were a delight to spend time with throughout the morning and thankfully the sun was still shining when it came to walking down to the ceremony outside!

The violinist was playing a classic by Oasis as Sam met with Alex.  A really beautiful moment that made for a lot of emotion!  Apart from the fight Sam had with Alex’s wedding band/finger, things went smoothly and the ceremony was over in a flash.  Before the guests were allowed back up to the hotel for cocktails and canapés, I got in the confetti and group shots … perhaps that was why they were so obedient (I’ll remember that for next time!).

Next came my favourite part of the day, where we wander off for quiet time for the couple shots.  It was such a stunning location and I particularly loved the mossy steps down to the water edge – however be warned, no shoe grip = possible slippy catastrophe … would have made for good action photos though!

The rest of the afternoon and evening was wonderfully relaxed.  The food was amazing, the sunset was gorgeous, everyone was happy.  It was all in all an awesome wedding day!

Sam & Alex, it seems to me like you are a perfectly matched couple (despite the rather large height difference!)  It’s a pleasure to see when you’re together you both looking so in love.  I’m sure you’ll carry that through with all your adventures to come.  I wish you all the happiness for your future together.

Sian & Dean

I had such a lovely time shooting Sian & Deans wedding!  Me and my darling mother, Tania (2nd photographer) were at the stunning Maesmawr Hall Hotel in Caersws for this day.  I dropped her off there for the morning and abandoned her for Kerry, where I met up with the bridal party and had a delightful morning.  Sian was so chilled out, she was an absolute darling to photograph!

Before I knew it, we were back at Maesmawr for the ceremony and the bridal party were walking down the aisle to some lovely acoustic guitar and flute.  After the ceremony we had lots of time on our hands for photos, and we certainly made the most of it!  When myself and Sian visited the venue a few weeks previously, we came across a fantastic roof space which she was well up to using as a backdrop!  I love these particular shots and just want to thank Sian & Dean for being so adventurous … and apologise to the venue for possibly breaking lots of health and safety rules!!

I was so impressed with the team at Maesmawr, managed by whom I will call the Legendary Lee.  They were a fantastic bunch that worked really hard, transforming the ceremony room into a stunning reception room.  The food was delicious, the venue was gorgeous and the couple we were celebrating were all the above adjectives!

It was a pleasure to photograph for you Sian & Dean; we wish you every happiness in your marriage together.

Alex & Sam’s Pre Wedding Shoot

I had a lovely time meeting Alex and Sam this month to do their pre wedding shoot. They are such a cute couple – one big rugby boy and one little lady!  We met at their wedding venue that we’ll be going to at the end of August.  It’s called Hogarths Hotel…and it’s beautiful!  So after having a mosey around, getting lots of ideas and inspiration , we went onto Lickey Hills to have the photo shoot.

It was a beautiful evening for a sunset shoot and here are some of my favourites!
